Epsilon Nu Delta Mortuary Fraternity, Inc. was formed by Brother Thomas Whippy in 1942 at Worsham College of Mortuary Science in Illinois.

Epsilon Nu Delta was chartered under the laws of Illinois in 1944. The first Osiris (annual meeting) was held in 1947 in Chicago.

Today, Epsilon Nu Delta is a national organization with over 20 chapters in as many states.

There are also members-at-large where there is no local chapter.  When founded, the purpose of the organization was primarily a study club to help students through the rigors of mortuary school.

As the years have passed our focus has remained on education in schools of mortuary science, and for the professional embalmer.
